Games Alle Vögel fliegen hoch - "All the birds are flying high" Sitting in a circle all children are drumming with their hands on the surface in front of them. The leader starts by saying: "All the birds are flying high." Everyone raises up their arms. The leader then continues to name different animals: All the elephants (lions, bats, butterflies, dogs etc.) are flying high. The children quickly need to decide when to raise their arms and when to keep them down. Ich packe meinen Koffer - "I pack my bag" - 2+ players For this game the first player says "I pack my bag and I put ....in it." The player comes up with anything he/she wants to put in the bag. For example a teddy bear. The second player then says: " I pack my bag and I put in a teddy bear and a .... in it." The second player adds an item of his/her choice, for example a toothbrush. The player always needs to mention the previous items. The next player would then say: "I pack my bag and I put a teddy bear, a toothbrush and a .... in it." .... and so forth. Hit the Pot This traditional game goes by the name Topfschlagen. A small pot containing chocolates is placed on the floor. The child who's turn it is, is blindfolded (only one child at a time plays. He/She is then handed a stick and placed in the center of the room. The objective of the game is to crawl on the floor, and using the stick, find and hit the pot. Once the child has found the pot, he can claim the contents of the same as his own. The game can be continued to be played by re-filling the pot and having others have a go at it. |
